That’s a tough one Kiki. Looks like the fluid is getting thicker, and I’m more concerned now. The chick also seems to be “panting” more now. I’d be inclined to break off a little of the cap too.

In my experience, all of the chicks that pip like that end up failing to thrive. The one that I managed to get to finally hatch from one like this later died probably from exhaustion..
So it’s up to Kiki and what she wants to do.
I agree. She’ll probably use Nutridrench but sometimes things just happen for a reason! I’m ready for her 30+ eggs that she’s going to set and see how her fertility rate is going.Ditto, with the exception of a single hen who is now one of my nicest and just needed a teeny weeny fleck of help (and honestly I think I just assisted early). When I have to basically peel them out they've never made it :/
