Nope, they are white meat, I think they have the taste between a chicken and a turkey.

Bobwhites, Blues, Gambles, Mountain quail are white meat. Cot's are dark meat, even the A&M's. I never have eat'en a Cot, so idk how they taste. I didn't know they were dark meat either, for the reason stated above.
Coturnix are all dark meat. Texas A&M tried to breed them larger (jumbos) to make them have white meat too but was unsuccessful. I don't personally know if the other kinds of quail have white meat, I've only tried coturnix. Google says bobwhites have white breast meat.
 
Re meat taste.. I am reading a book called "big chicken" and the writer begins the book by telling of her annual trip to France, a bustling street market early morning, and a que for rotisserie chicken.. and then goes on to describe the flavors in her mouth.
She writes 'why does American chicken not taste like this?'

So there must be a flavour difference!
