➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I haven't had a digital controller fail but I am sure they can and do fail. I am also sure they do not fail as frequently as the wafers do. Even the solid state part of the controller that works with the wafer can and does fail but it is rare compared to the wafer failures.

The main one on my cabinet is electronic, the backup is wafer. If I remember correctly, I always thought wafers were more accurate, but digital are more reliable, as far as failures. I think.

Old argument. Analog vs digital. Vacuum tubes vs solid state. They both get the job done, which one is cheaper? More reliable?

For me, I should have sprung for the whole control kit, not just the fan upgrade. Hmmm.

Run it to failure and then decide. I hope it fails during testing...

@Pugsabi just read your hatching thread, you said this one wasn't stable temperature wise. It has been very stable for me. Inside, away from doors, AC vents closed or blowing away. Does your new incubator swing also?

Originally my cabinet had front and rear wafers. I replaced the front wafer with the electronic one from GQF. The electronic one was no better or worse than the wafer but was much more reliable than a wafer is. The PID controller that I replaced the electronic thermostat with is far more accurate and reliable than either the wafer or the electronic thermostat plus it allows for calibration of the temperature probe.

Cool kit. Mine literally just had the little unit and the sensor cable, no heat sink; plus the unit is not as fancy as that one.

I would take your time and shop around and research to find what you want to upgrade to; your current incubator has been working well for you it seems
I am horrible about wanting something I don't need.

So far yes I have been happy with my bator but now that I plan on hatching often I think investing in a set it and walk a way bator will be a good investment.

I'm taking my time researching. :barnie

Is Sabi not telling us something? Is she closet hatching right now?

GUESS WHAT!

The three eggs I put to the side lady night, you know that one that I thought for sure quit...

All three are moving today and look a lot further along did they did yesterday!

I only candled those three plus two others just now.
I'm back up to 21 potential quailies.
