➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

:lau:lau:lau good on ya Nutty!!!

I have set my next lot of eggs today (internet bought eggs), and 5 of my own eggs - because I am not actually 'holier than thou' -in fact I have 3 adult quailies who are from the same hatch!! The horror!!! :old

The wait to hatch "my very own" eggs, is killing me.. so I'll just try a couple.. see how they go!!
I am afraid to order eggs because I am in a bad cold snap for the next week at least here in IL. I don't want the eggs to freeze before I get them... I think I am waiting it out. Going to miss the window now to get them in the incubator with the turkey eggs. If turkey eggs are fertile I have 23 more days.

@CoturnixComplex here's pics of my quail. Any color info would ne appreciated

The last pic is a definite male, he's been crowing all afternoon. I think the white birds are a&m/golden crosses. The one bird with the charcoal backside isn't so all over.

I got a small stroke of luck on this batch. they shipped 2-day yesterday so no freezing temp until tonight thru arrival tomorrow. :fl:fl not enough time to lose any to freezing! I asked farm about option of heat pack but he said actually have seen better hatch rate when no heat added in shipping. i will let u know if any arrive frozen.
I did lose 2 of my eating eggs this past week to freezing!

That's smart putting your name on those pics. It's the same as copy right. Maybe you won't see your birds pics all over the net....like I do mine.

Thanks Sean. My phone has the feature and I thought it was kinda neat. Then I thought about copyright rules and kept doing it.

It's annoying to find your stuff out there when you don't get credit for it!

Well, if you do see them and they didn't ask permission first, then you can force them to take them down or take them to court.
And your right about annoying, actually it makes me mad  I'll be looking through some pictures and go "wow, a pretty bird", then I look again and say, "wait a minute, that's my bird"! :lau

Thank you! Honestly, I think I like the simplicity of the wild types...feather sex and forget it. It's kind of nice to have color though, so I'm undecided on who to keep right now.
You need to get some Mexican Speckled Bobwhites. :love
