Probably a stupid question but your getting 'quail egg' sized foam, right?

Nevermind just went back and looked at the the site...they also include the 1/2" foam pad I was referring too! buy it!

I was just looking at the bantam sized foams. The eBay listings may be cheaper, but by the time shipping is added, it’s more per set than the link Kiki posted. I’m still searching other websites.

Shipping was 8.65 for me.

Only thing you'll need to do is cut a thin piece of cardboard to fit the box for the upper and bottom of the foam sheets.

Let me see if I remember right. 100 on temp 50% on humidity and on day 16 stop turning and bump humidity to 60 65%.

Yeah, that will work...no higher than 50% though, and no lower than 40% until 'lockdown'. As stated before those numbers will depend on your ambient humidity, and how much water you have to add to the bator to achieve that level of humidity.

HELP! HELP! HELP!

1 of my 2 week old quail is having trouble walking suddenly. Just started this today. It tries to walk, but falls forward and then pops back up. At first I thought it was dust bathing because it went down and flapped its wings a bit. I just found this quail stuck in the trough of the gravity feeder laying sideways with legs extended. I carefully got it out and checked it. I cannot see any deformity or injury. Is it possible it pulled a leg muscle or sprained a joint or something of like that? The legs do not appear to be swollen or bruised. I don't think there's a broken bone in either leg.
Could this be something not injury related like an illness? It appears to have vertigo it seems, which is not something I expected in a quail.

Umm, I had a major incubator malfunction. It got up to 140 F, who knows how long, although I'm assuming for just a short time. My eggs are gone, right, no coming back from that?! I candled them, can't see any movement, could see veining and little blobs. Only 17 eggs not fertile, most from the same pair. Still waiting for the incubator to cool down so I can see if it can be fixed. Not a good way to end day 6.

Oh boy both of you are having a disaster

Hmmm.. I dunno. Quails are funny like that. One day they appear completely normal, next thing they have a gimpy neck, or legs in your case.

Sara -I would let the bator cool, and then continue with the incubating cycle. You just never know!
