I think it depends on how long they were cold. When they are only a few hours old it's more critical to keep them warm....if they get a chill, it just seems to weaken them to a point of a 'failure to thrive' scenario. JMHOthis hatch has been the most stressful yet!! not during incubation, but after!! it’s almost like having a colicky baby! so i’m deducing that if a baby quail gets too cold in the first days, it messes with their equilibrium and recovery is almost impossible......any thoughts on my hypothesis??
i understand your frustration.....i’ve only ever corresponded via facebook messenger and get immediate response and email for invoices so not sure why you’re not getting reply.I have Pearl in my cart now.
The people never answer the phone and they still have responded to my email so I have issues with this particular dealer and don't know if I want to order from them anymore.
i’m not having as issue with hatching....other than my inability to leave the eggs alone that aren’t meant to be. it’s something i’m doing wrong with my brooding. i believe it was because of that stupid plate! now i have the thermometer on the heat pad and keeping things between 90 and 100* but i think the damage was already done by them getting too cold in the first 48 hours. i only had 1 hatch this time with leg problem and that was probably my fault as well.I'm getting worried too about ordering eggs beci what if they hatch messed up. I can not do nursing stuff...will not do it.

He did it! He's eating! I think!
(Or, at least, he's at least asleep in the food pecking at it in his dreams)
