Have you guys had a chick that couldn’t walk at hatch? I have one that just looks like it is riding a bicycle in the air and can’t get its feet under itself. I had one last hatch do that too. And it ended up dying. I also have one that looks like one leg is turned waaaay inside and it’s having trouble walking. What is it that I’m doing wrong?

Nothing. Things happen. Don't beat yourself up over it. I would cull them but if you want to try saving them I'm sure others may chime in with suggestions of help.

Well that’s good to hear. I’d just hate to be doing something wrong and causing it to happen. I had some drown in the shallow poultry waterer today. It’s like @Texas Kiki said. These suckers are on a suicide mission.

I have those nipple waterer things. I just need to sit down and affix them to a container and they won’t drown.

Put rocks or things in the waterer so the dummies can't get in it.

Put rocks or things in the waterer so the dummies can't get in it.

Last batch I cut small holes in Tupperware container so they could only stick their heads in. But some of them could wiggle all the way inside and a few died. Learning I guess.

I think these are sold to fill vases or something. I found them at Hobby Lobby.

I worry that they are too dumb to figure out nipples.

Marbles, rocks, things...anything to block them from being able to step into the water.
