➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I have hatched zero in 2019.

I have eggs in the incubator (day 5 chicken/turkey, day 2 coturnix, day 1 button quail). My last hatch was Dec 26-27 ish. I tried to incubate in January but I fried the eggs. :(
Did you figure out why the bator freaked out?

Not completely. We did determine that the wiring to the fan was damaged, which is probably why it kept turning off. But I'm still not sure why or how it got to 140 degrees unless the unit is bad - it didn't shut off the light when it was supposed to, should have been separate from the fan. Or maybe a wire got crossed somehow. My boyfriend (electrician!) will be rewiring the whole thing this weekend and I will be testing it for a while before I put eggs in it. We are also looking at finally putting together the cabinet incubator I bought parts for over a year ago.

Bunny update. All buns gained 9-10 oz since last weigh in 5 days ago. I think there's 2 boys and 2 girls. They did NOT want to be examined.

Beautiful little bun Sara :love

I need to make a decision.. do I keep the biggest, or the friendliest quail ladies :idunno Texas white ones is still my favourite, even though they are smaller :love

I have 1 golden & 1 brown small girl, they are least friendly, and not yet laying. So I think they are off to freezer camp.
A bit torn on the other 2.. it's a big golden girl whom is a PITA to catch.. or my white girl from first hatch (full blood aunty to this weeks hatch), she refuses to be mated and can be skittish (better without her brother around). Hhhrrrrmmmm..

Possibly I just answered my own question.. because I was planning to keep only a boy from this weeks hatch.. so I cant keep my original white girl & brown girl (mumma & aunty), because.. :old inbreeding yo :old

Its getting crowded over here!!!
