It’s just the rapid dip of thirty degrees that seems too much for the first day.

Mine have been out in rapid big temp drops.
No harm here.

I moved a bunch of mine from my basement where it's pretty constant temperature to a shipping container (the rest of them are moving out this weekend) and I have a temperature gauge. Shows temps have been down to upper 30s at night and up to upper 60s during the day. Birds are fine.

The quail are very happy. Meanwhile, the 8-wk-old chicken chicks are still afraid to go outside into the cruel sunshine.

Here are some of my adult bobwhites. They don’t seem to have much of a difference in appearance yet. But are doing great!
