➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Yes! Add them, just don’t loose your marbles!:lau

I may have over simplified what he explained to me. He did tell me all my yellow would turn to white feathers and that it wouldn’t change. And he may have said they breed 60% true as muddy said. But now I can’t remember. I was expecting them to be the same like when I ordered the bobs, so that’s why I was scratching my head.

I’ll post a video of what I have. I wouldn’t know what a bibbed tibetan looked like if it bit me! Bibs are a no go for me except for maybe a pretty one for the kids to do enter into 4H.

This I did not know until today. I’ve never ran into it with other birds so it never occurred to me before!
But now I know!

That’s probably what we will do. Especially males.:lau And probably train our personal dogs with them. Then save the others for our hunting buddies. Save the best for company you know?!

That’s an easy way to explain it when selling them! Great idea.

I may be butchering what he said but that’s what I understood from our conversation.

Zack explained this to me in so many terms and asked what my goal with the quail was and what to order in the future based on what I was wanting.

That’s so exciting!!

Yep, Me’s dumb too.... not just the chicks:lau

I don’t really know!

Was the all yellow one a pearl as well?

Abusive males go in a heartbeat at my house too!!

Here is a video of some of them.

Okay.

I think all of those look like possibilities with red x red parents of varying kinds.

I think the big miscommunication was about the inclusion of the white gene, which causes all those shocking white and tuxedo babies to pop up.

I wish that this had been cleared up beforehand, and cannot at all say whether it was due to not being presented correctly or interpreted correctly.

I think you will still get at least 60% tibetans and a bunch of the others will be other varying shades of natural reddish colors. :fl

The whites - to the BBQ!

We are probably just playing telephone and mucking it up....but I would hope they would make it clear that if they were breeding 100% tibetans they would get 100% tibetans, it is simply their tibetan genepool pool that does not breed true.

I would say there are several that look like pictures 2-3 and several of the striped ones with varying shades of darkness, less of the yellow striped ones and even less of the all yellow.

I don't understand still.

These are not all the same thing.

There is no way I would order 200 things and be happy with this many differences.

Does that make sense?

I think I need to sleep and re read these last few pages in the morning because I am still just not getting how one can order one kind and get ten kinds.

I would call your colors a mix of everything.
The tuxedo at the end, this yellow belly one:

I need him!
I would give you all of those if I lived close to you!!!

Gotcha!!

I do get it, and if I wanted pure tibetans I would also be unhappy. It is a simple gene to isolate and offer separately. These I would deem "Mixed Red Types". I think the implication must be that they are "Tibetan & Mores" but I would hope that would be made clear.

This just isn't right.

Photos #2 3 and 5 are tibetan-types, albeit some with tuxedo genes. The rest will look different :/
