➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
I couldn't see swimming but I wasn't looking for that. I was looking at the veins. They grew over night so I'm thinking that this one did not die like I was sure it had yesterday.

:yesss:
The veins looked the same to me? but then again I wasn't really looking at them ...I started to say I saw it move last night but thought it might have been you tilting the egg...this time it was definitely moving. Congrats, not all is lost! :bun

My bator spiked twice this week, Sunday and last night, 104°F. The spike on Sunday I have no idea how long it was but had chicks hatching so I guess it wasn't that long?
Last night it was at that temp for about 2 hours. I don't know if it killed them or not, their to dark to see any movement. I should have some start hatching tonight or tomorrow...with spikes, you never know.

Yep, looks that way. I scaled back on hatching this year, so instead of cranking up my cabinet bator's, I'm just using two of my foam bator's. One Innovator Farms 4250 and a 'bastardized' Hovabator. The IF 4250 is the one with the spikes...it's only 1 year old.
Last year it worked perfectly!

I'm going to be setting eggs later this week. I told myself I was done after the last disaster hatches, but I can't just leave those quail eggs alone. They started laying on Sunday and everyday we have found more than the day before. Loving these little birds.
