Just trying to do an”assist” on the egg ive been watching all morning(And hubby wasn’t helping because he trying to fix electrical project) a gust of wind knocked coop roof down on my back!!!!! Luckily I’m on pitcher #5 or so cuz hubby don’t give 2 s’s because I shouldn’t have been doing it by myself

Killed a rattlesnake at the community garden today. So glad they don't like my elevation

I’ve been seeing way too many snake stories on here today!!!!! Hoping none here!

I found a “bloody” quail today....no sign of the “rat” but found a sharp piece of glass on ground.....hoping that was it and problem fixed! Bloody got a sink bath and the back to dry in intermittent sunshine!

The count is 5 of 14 hatched; and two definite exterior pips. I expected these to be like popcorn and almost all hatch at once; hasn't been the way of it though.

Assist is out of egg and still under broody.....hubby helped me this time but didn’t want to pull it yet! Another yeller!

I picked up 10 more pheasant chicks from RK yesterday....melanistic mutant....should know better.....lost 3 in 24 hours that all looked fine when I picked them up!! From now on I will let them set there until all runts die and then take strongest left!!

I’ve been sitting here through both batches blaming weather and trying to figure out what I did wrong!! It’s the hatchery stock!! I’ve brooded 100’s of chicks now.....learning curve should be over!!!
