➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

that sounds to me like a “locator” cheep....trying to find the others!! I know @Texas Kiki believes in getting them out as soon as possible, but I have started removal once every 24 hours around active hatching (a more hands off approach) that seems to be working well. (of course with the eggs under broodies, I pull them freshly hatched so they don’t “murder” themselves)
I can't stand the bowling ball game. That freaks me out.

i still get freaked out and still “hover”/obsess.....that’s why i’ve been scheduling most of my incubator hatches for the workweek!! forces me to let them do their thing!!! i typically do a bator to brooder x-fer either before bed or before work so some may have been there 24+ hours and others barely fluffy....i’m a little freaked out now because i messed up my dates and have broody hatch due on Monday when i’m not here to check for chicks every hour!:th

We get those out here in CA too. One day there was a 5' one by the back door where I worked.
It's not often you see one this small, usually their 5' to 6' and big around as a coffee can.
I have lived here for 37 years and for the last 3 years, I have only seen 3 rattlesnakes on my place. Copperheads, Bullsnakes and Coral snakes, yeah, but not Rattler's.
The little ones scare me more than the big ones...the little ones don't have enough or big enough rattles to make any noise.
