Was it pecked or chewed?
it’s most likely another bird.....I just can’t understand why it’s happened in both areas with our current separation.Does your gate raccoon proof latches? Those little beasts have opposable thumbs that can open anything a 3yr old child can.
we moved the chickens out of the aviary last weekend but they have had 3 week olds in with them for several days now and haven’t killed any. other scenarios are that it died and then the chickens ate it but not sure how quickly they will start eating a dead one as this was pretty fresh.i wouldnt think heat in those conditions. Its much warmer here and you have great shade.
maybe a chicken hen?

head intact, most feathers, wings but guts and most of the meat picked off the bonesSorry! That sounded horrible. What I meant was does it have a head or a face left?
i’m thinking of putting up webcams.....as far as the gate I just didn’t get it latched good last night.....happens once in a while......thought in the aviary was that it was aggression during breeding but this one was on the opposite side of the fence! You're right. It sounds more like a bird or maybe even a weasel? My question is how does the gate keep opening?Any chance you can pick up a cheap trail cam?
Make sure to secure your webcams. Get ones that have an admin password and change the password. It's not a big deal if someone wants to watch your birds, but remember that the Mirai botnet used cams for the huge DOS attack on the internet a couple of years ago.i’m thinking of putting up webcams.....as far as the gate I just didn’t get it latched good last night.....happens once in a while......thought in the aviary was that it was aggression during breeding but this one was on the opposite side of the fence!
