I did manage to get a copy of the cookbook that my grandmother had. The Household Searchlight Recipe Book (1935). I suspect that it contain the recipes that she used but did not have written down anywhere. I do know it was the source for her Apricot pie that was made from dried apricots. I made that recipe and it came out the same as what I remembered.
Peach Ice Cream
4 cups milk, scalded
2 cups whipped cream
3 egg yolks
Few grains salt
1 cup sugar
2 cups peach pulp
1 cup pineapple juice
1 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lemon juice
Combine egg yolks, sugar and salt. Beat thoroughly. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly. Cook over hot water until mixture coats a spoon. Cool. Add fruit juices and pulp. Add cream. Freeze.
20 servings
The Household Searchlight.
Disclaimer: My grandmother was known to alter recipes to suit herself. She was also known to leave out parts of recipes when giving recipes to others.
