I just realized that my post this morning didn’t post (and didn’t save). when we went out to feed, none were dead which was good, but one of my girls wasn’t acting right. we decided to cull as it appeared she was close to expiring on her own. when hubby opened her up, it appeared to be gizzard impaction with oyster shell!! So we’ve now found 1 more factor in the “unexplained” deaths!! I guess the oyster shell bits are too big for quail??!! I’m going to double check the calcium levels in my feed and if I offer oyster shell again, I’m going to grind it up into much smaller bits!
