Hey Turk, I think I got a double. 2 grams compared to her normal 14-15 grams.

We tried my pickled eggs last night. DH said he could eat them ok, but only if he was blindfolded. I couldn't even swallow mine. I'm gonna chalk it up to a failed 1st time experiment & try again.

Some of the changes I'll try for next time;
-Beets to disguise the color.
-Hot peppers (a lot of them.)
-Whole dill sprigs instead of dried.
-More garlic cloves.

Are you sure u failed? Im not sure you did. I personally hadnt ever eaten pickled eggs before i made my first batch So i had to get a couple peoples reveiws before i could claim theyre any good. Have you eaten them and knew what to look for? has it even been long enough for yours? Most people want to leave it to steep for a month, i think its been two wks or a wk for you? Was it the texture yall didnt like? The whole pepper slices in mine are just to look pretty really, theyre not adding very much flavor. If you wanted them to be hot id add my pepper to the brine. And boil it outside :gig if theyre rubbery thats just what pickling does to them and im not a big fan of that. id like to pull em from the steep early so i can see if they dont get too rubbery.

A long time ago I found out that I didn't like pickled eggs. They sounded like a good idea, so I to 36 chicken eggs and followed a recipe that I found. I know that they weren't a failure because a Russian friend of mine would come over and raid my 'fridge for them every time he came over and tell me how good they were. I gave the whole batch to him.
