Jmf shipped my second batch of eggs today! Ahhhh gonna clean incubators again and get them going. Fingers crossed for more than 8 chicks this time

It had just rained and he was on the wet grass just before death, but so was the other one and his wings did not look like this.

This is what made me say that

I could see where the feathers are split a lil bit. Id still look over the rest becuz something else that happens to make the feathers look like that is an imparticular feather mite

These are my first ever cleaned birds.
I did not kill them but I did cut their head off once they were dead and processed them all by myself.

after my post this morning I went out to feed. I’m still absolutely sick and in utter shock as something triggered an early morning “massacre” my aviary looked like a slaughterhouse!!! we were able to process most of the meat after wrangling all the chukars and pheasants into the chicken area. I lost over a dozen of my quail!!! not sure how many more may die today from trauma/shock not evident this morning. several were my layers and some were my favorites including my falb fee tux!
will definitely be completing some sort of permanent separation this weekend.
