Raising humidity late in the game isn't as crucial as high humidity all along. You also don't run very high humidity anyway, if I remember correctly.
Two or three days before 'lockdown' isn't going to hurt the hatchibility.
What will make a difference is high humidity while they are actively hatching...high RH, meaning 70% or above.

I am not a fan of high humidity at any time.
It works for me.

Plus you already have high humidity there that probably raises it.

Darn. Idk why. It says it in he title of the link but then doesn’t work. Maybe cause I didn’t enter my location? Oh well.

Here’s some pics. Not exactly sure which shovel it is but I think the yellow one. But same idea. This type at least.

Also, just to get back to quail, these would probably be much to big to use for cleaning quail cages lol unless I had a quail aviary maybe.

Reason you struggled was handles are too long. Those are for horse/big poop mucking like throwing over your shoulder work. At least that's based on my exp.

21st will be day 14.....could wait until 22nd for day 15 to lockdown or split the difference between 14 and 15.....my big batch is due same time....app saying to lockdown thursday 22nd......will see if i can wait that long!

HMMMM. How many do you have? I'm think 75+/- a few out of 120 will be going into lockdown here...

I think I candle more during the lockdown days then I do in the beginning.

I've only candled once and it wasn't even me, it was my friend who has been wanting to candle them every day will do it once more before "locking down"

Thanks! That’s helpful. I didn’t try the fork this time btw so idk if it would have worked better but used the grain shovel and then a regular pointy diggy shovel dont know the true name. The grain one though I think has a pretty short handle but idk.

Definitely probably need a shorter handled tool though.

I try hard not to candle but I really like to see the changes and know what's going on... constantly.
