Does anybody happen to know what is this black one? It has not stripes.. Next to it is the zipped egg that has been zipped for 12 hours now.

Also I think 2 or 3 of my dingles have splayed legs. Should I just leave them be for a couple days? Both incubator and brooder have no slippy surfaces so I am p sure they were just sitting funky inside the eggs

Splayed leggs - I think the sooner fixed the better.
Tibetan - never seen that alive before I read they are very aggressive.

Splayed legs you want to fix asap, or cull. Or if you can stand it, wait till they're big enough to eat and then cull. If there's nothing slippery and they have splayed legs it might be genetic and you don't want to use them for breeding.

Usually curly toes are common for being stuck in the egg. Those could fix themselves but might require intervention. Again, fixing sooner than later is better, as the bones are still malleable when they are fresh out of the egg. Less so the older they get.

They are also learning how to move around, so you don't want them to learn how to move incorrectly as that can lead to issues down the road.

Friend just showed me something about a glass and tissue. Forces them to stand upright. Have you tried that way?

The one that was zipped for 12 hours - I peeled off the shell over the air-sack and there were no blood vessels. I moistened the membrane around the lower part of the egg with coconut oil and put it back in the incubator. 2 hours later the baby quail is still in the egg. About the moistening.. what if I drop a drop of water directly on the membrane of the lower part of the egg? The head should be up around the air-sack and I won't drown it.
