Have they mated with the male?

The silver male has mounted everything that moves in that pen. I understand that it still may take a while to produce fertile eggs, though, so they may or may not be fertile.

I have never done bullseyes as I don't know what to look for. I have set them in the incubator and then checked for fertility.
I will keep experimenting.

I've bee using the flashlight that came with my incubator to candle. I think it was intended for chicken eggs and doesn't shine through quail eggs very well.

I was joking. It should be fine. It's not like they're going to be exposed for more than a few seconds each. I'll try to take pictures.

You should practice taking pictures on an egg tonight... An egg that has not yet been put into your incubator.

That makes sense. Wouldn't want to drop one that's already developing. We'll see if I get an egg tonight. Most of my girls haven't started laying yet, and the one that was laying has stopped.

Nope, I use a 3000 lumen flashlight that I used foam pipe insulation and electrical tape to turn it into a candler. Post #26685
