➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

we had quail and pheasant with dressing last night!
I've never had quail, yet....:drool

You sure could don’t think I’ve ever eaten guinea though
I only have 4 guinea, they act more like a dog than a chicken. They follow me around, chatting/complaining along the way. I don't think I will eat them, unless they start landing on the cars.

My son squeezed one of the quail the other day and it couldn’t get up right after so I went ahead and butchered it and cooked it up and let everyone try it first time eating quail. Everyone including my wife liked it so that’s a plus
that’s great that everyone liked it!! sounds like you better get hatching again so you can fill your freezer!! :gig

last night was my first time having pheasant....it was good but I actually like the quail much more (and half the grow out time makes it even better!).

I was gonna attempt vent sexing yesterday, the quail do not make that easy! I couldn't even get the dumb bird turned over without it flapping its wings &/or kicking its stupid little legs, much less be able to examine its butt!!!:barnie
yes they can be very resistant especially at the 3-4 week age.....sometimes it can be beneficial to have extra pair of hands to hold while you look

I was gonna do this the other day when I weighed them but I had 10 extra hands and the were practically throwing quail at me I had no time

I had been getting them for likes, quotes, & replies to watched threads. I don't know why it's inconsistent, I don't like being that far behind. It's hard to figure out where I left off. View attachment 1956600

Huh, very weird.

It supposedly has something to do with you not responding to an alert. It is claimed that if you go to the top of the thread and click on unwatch thread and then clicking on watch thread again that the alerts will start coming again.

I just click on the watched threads link in the white bar to get a list of all the Unread Watched Threads. I find it much more reliable.

Yeah I just check the unread threads page. I like it better especially cause it shows all the threads in one place.

Ah, I see that now, I'm still new to maneuvering through the BYC mobile app. Thanks.:highfive:

I’ve never used the app but @Texas Kiki loves it! I’m sure she can help you. :)
