Maybe a covered dirt box cave type thing so dirt doesn't fly all over your room.

my buttons have a covered parakeet bird bath and its great to keep all the sand inside. Id have to make my own one in coturnux size though.

I made a nice deep bedding tray for my budgie and naybe coturnix cage. They like it so much they've decided to be quails and play on the ground.

Huh, they don't eat the pine shavings? I've always bedded mine with paper towel because I figured they'd gorge themselves.

they know its not food. I scattered some seed in the bedding and they're scratching for it now.
