I've got nearly 60 three week olds or my grown ones that are like 8 or 9 weeks.

I wouldn't mind giving some away either. I think I'm gonna list some of my quailies &/or eggs on Craigslist. See if that's worth my time or not. There's a guy at the feed store interested in "some", but he asked if I had any "Buff" ones.

I don't think my jumbos are fertile, my Roux Dilute is trying but the hen is jumbo compared to him.

I would but I've got an active hatch date of Dec 15 for some of my own 1st eggs.
And.....my other bator has a test batch of turkey eggs in it, that hatch date is 12/25.

The 200 that you hatched, what did you do with them? Sell, swap, give away, eat?

That makes 2 of us!



I'd like to see that "Quail Stand" with an honor system payment box in place. Feeders, waterers, quail, eggs, pens, etc would all be gone.... even the payment box would probably end up relocated as well.

I've got eggs too, and I'm not that far. Wouldn't even have to send them in the post.

I've got a weird tiny in my Pansy batch that needs to be culled asap.
It hasn't been "right" since it was a few days old. It's smaller than the others, walks squatty, mostly backwards, and seems to be near constantly fussy.

I haven’t really attempted selling any.....i have lost a lot of birds this year to a variety of issues and we typically put about a dozen or so in the freezer each month. I also keep about 40-50 in the aviary all the time. my peak egg production was 3 dozen per day.

My cage of 6....the cage I was so sure there were at least 2 males in...
6 eggs tonight.


I just butchered the males from the other cage yesterday.

There is ZERO crowing here from ALL of my cages.

There is only the one big boy that was crowing while I had him in a cage for a few days by himself.
He hasn't made a noise since.
He is the dad of my new babies.


I think I might only have ONE darn male out of 4 cages with 16 other quail.

That's what you get for being so quick to off the little guys.

I'm not.
I should probably do that though.
I didn't know there were so many rules & regulations when I decided to get coturnix eggs.
I honestly didn't even think about it. I don't like us being micromanaged by so many government agencies.
It's frustrating to say the least.

The Sexlink youngins are really nice to have, it'll make Freezer Camp selection alot easier, I think...
