➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Possibly but I only have one male crowing right now so I need to figure out what other males I have I have two males that im for sure keeping to breed.
I have 7 hens, I get 6 or 7 eggs everyday. Mine are split up into breeding pairs or trios right now. I plan on adding in hens & maybe swapping out a male here or there now that I have more variety to choose from. I do use supplemental lighting, I turn the light on usually around 5am & turn it off at 8-9pm. I assume my 3 week olds have started crowing bc of the extra lighting. Tonight, I think I have 40+ eggs saved now, :fl hopefully they're all fertile now. (I don't think my small Egyptian roo is gonna work out with my Jumbo Pharoah hen.)

Button quail people: I have a pair that are incubating eggs and they seem to be nearly ready to hatch. Should I move the male to a different cage?
Some peeps do seperate them but I think it's only because the male becomes aggressive towards the chicks.
Mine have never hatched any out...they sit on the nest but never have hatched any? It might be that the male is having an affect on the hen?
I just put them in the bator if I want more birds.
I've had Bob's set and hatch before though.:jumpy

:hugsSorry, I meant to post this here, cause I know more of y'all'll see it here on kiki's QHAL.:pop

:eek:Oh, oh, oh!!!
:oldI saw a "new" BIRD-OF-FREAKING-PREY yesterday!!!
:rantNever EVER had seen one of these birds here!
:cafI think it was a white-tailed kite!
:thIt flew in low & slow and slammed right into the welded wire fence of the goat yard.
:popHave any of y'all had any losses from this type of B.O.P?
:flOr do they mainly stick with rodents?

:barnieWhat the heck!?!?
I just came out to take care of the little birds like always.
My breeders were crowing, breeding, leaping around like idiots etc....
:thI looked over and my Egyptian roo was laying on his back/side seizing or spasming/dying!
:idunnoDo I process him now? Seems weird to do that with an unplanned event. Does this happen sometimes, drop dead for no apparent reason?

Do people process birds that drop dead? I don't with my chickens.
