I have a push button phone but it hangs on the wall and does not accept texts. A niece asked my brother why I never respond to her texts. He explained it to her. Still the last time she visited, she asked why I don't answer her texts. I pointed to the phone on the wall and she responded "Oh!"

I assume it doesn't have a message machine? The touch phone I had, had a message machine that if it received a text, it would translate it to a message. It was digital.

Nope, it was made long before texts existed. This is not digital and does not even have an answering machine. No caller ID, nothing.
