Rabbits are a lot of work when it all boils down I liked having them but they take so much more than chickens

When I was in high school a friend of mine had a rabbitry. She had about 30-40 rabbits and when they were on vacation I would take care of them. They gave me one, and it was okay as a pet, but i prefer cats. Cats are a lot less work and every bit as fluffy.

But cats have litter boxes you have to change which are nasty.

Of course you can litter box train bunnies too but still.

I have a litter robot. It is the best automatic litter box on the market, I swear. It's expensive as heck, but you don't have to use special litter, and it's easy to deal with.

I might do rabbits, but they’re so cute and fluffy. It’s hard enough killing birds.

I don’t think rabbits make very good pets. IMO pets belong in the house and DH would never go for that. (Plus the dogs might think it looked yummy and not give a rip how fluffy and cute.) IME rabbits just kind of sit there and maybe cutely nibble on a vegetable. If I were to get rabbits they would have to be food. I might get them even so, for some variety... a change from birds. I’d get quail first all the same.

Yeah, I could never kill them lol and idk, some of them have a lot of personality haha when they’re kept in those little guinea pig cages or tiny hutches I don’t think they really have much personality but when they’re loose in the house or even an x pen or bigger outdoor pen, they can be a lot of fun. Mine used to binky around the house and run and hop and zoom around. They can be fun.
