All will be well, and that will be well is well.
Brown rice is so much better IMO, but takes longer to cook. If you have an instant pot, it’s no problem. If you add the juice from the black beans it will color the rest of the food black. It still tastes good as long as the color doesn’t turn you off. It’s mildly healthier, but I would still drain black beans if adding them to rice or other things where the colors would matter, just because it makes a more attractive dish. For most people, if it looks good, that enhances the flavor. Other beans don’t color the food much. It’s just black beans.Okay thank you! I Googled it right before @Kiki answered and it said to drain and rinse them and they taste better but it didn’t say that on the can and Kiki said to keep it so I decided to use the juice to simmer my stuff in haha did train a teeny tiny bit out before I read Kiki’s reply though haha
I should probably start using real beans but we only have canned ones and I just grabbed the first ones I saw haha black beans.
Idk if I should add it directly to the rice or not though? It’s a lot of juice haha
I was going to make an omelette but I figured I should probably mix it up a little instead of eating the same few things all the time.
Am adding sausage too though.
Made brown rice. Didn’t have white.![]()
For many soups, the bean juice is a valuable component, adding flavor and nutrients. You just have to balance flavor/nutrients with beauty. Both matter, so use your own common sense and then go with your and your family’s preference.
