➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I took my turner out yesterday but what I forgot to do was adjust the temperature.
My turner adds one or two or three degrees to the incubator.

I still have not adjusted the temperature.
I do not think I'm going to either.
Doing an experiment I hope I am not ruining my pansy fee eggs.:fl
having different incubators has been a lot of my problem with poor hatch rates.....i have to raise the temp to hatch in this one but my other 2 have fan on bottom so I have to lower it.

What brand are the one's with the fan on the bottom?

I am playing with fire.

Oh wow that’s a lot!!! Hahah
Just my "To Do" List....

My DH only gets 1 day/night home each week so I can't slam him with chores. He really just wants to sleep & eat when he's home.

My chore list isn't urgent that's why I can keep postponing them.

I’m not hatching them yet as she’s not laying but when I’ve searched about hatching Bobwhites, the suggested temp and humidity varies from what people say and all the books I have on it are ancient and don’t really give any info on Bobwhites.

For hatching my Coturnix always had 37.5 degrees for the temp throughout with 45% humidity, then on day 15, humidity up to 65%.

That’s always worked perfectly for my Coturnix but people say Bobwhite are different!

What do you guys suggest for temperature and humidity for Bobwhites? (Turning the same amount of times also?)

Just wanting to make a note before the time comes :)
I hatched my Bobs out, 12 out of 18 eggs by using pretty much your parameters. All my hatches since with chickens, guinea, quail & turkey have been dry up till lockdown, then I up the humidity and my hatches have been approx 85~90%.

I'd keep doing what you're doing, if your hatch rates are that good why change now?

I'll find out Sunday.
The one that pipped has made no progress. I'll pop the top tonight to see if he makes it.

29 started - 4 hatched. Only one of the 5 fresh eggs, so 3 refrigerated ones.
12 started - none fertile.

a whopping 4/41 = 10% hatch average for the year. Lots of room for improvement.

21 sitting on deck (+6 more for the next 3 days???), so 27 starting on Sunday.

Really think only Set1 will be partially fertile and Set3 duds.

How about you find out tonight instead of Sunday?
Sunday is a long time from now... I don't think I can wait that long.
