I do something similar to you with the list! I number each egg and get their weight in grams. Then, around day 7, I weigh again. Studies have shown that the eggs lose weight as a chick develops so I look for any sort of weight change to indicate whether there may be some development. Then I candle on day 10 to see if there can be any confirmation of suspected development and make notes on what I see.

I tried the whole weighing thing once or twice but... Candling daily is much easier and quicker...for me.
 
I have a question...

Tomorrow is hatch day for my grocery store quail egg. I figured it would be ok to candle the egg today since there was no external pip, hoping to see an internal one. No internal pip either. I did notice, however, that most of the egg was dark. There was an obvious air sac visible but it seems smaller than what I've seen some of you guy post. Like, it's just the end of the egg. Also, the last time I candled, when I whistled I saw movement but today there was nothing visible. Are both of those things typical towards the end?
