Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
I would expect that to take much less time to incubate. It also presents the problem of hand feeding if it does hatch.

Yes it’ll take around 14 days to hatch, don’t worry if it does hatch I will be able to hand raise it. I really don’t think it will though, just a bit of fun and if it does then wow! 😅

I'll bite. What laid it? Rooster? Chimera? Some scaly reptile?

Why can it only eat hands?
:D

I waited two hours. It was stuck, and it was my fault, so I finished helping. I don’t care about a little shell stuck, but this thing had the whole shell stuck, and it couldn’t straighten it’s back.

The shell in case anyone is curious about what happens when you stupidly interfere. I am not above assisting, but what I did was rush. Anxious or not, I screwed up.

Is it doing ok though? 😯

Yes, it seems okay. Tired of course, but it did move when I put it into the brooder. I’ll keep checking, but it’s not bleeding, and fought to hatch for over 24 hours. It’s a nutty nut quail.
