Good to know. I use a brooder plate and I start shutting it off during the day around 5 days. Then I shut it off completely around a week or so. It’s going to be hot here so I’ll be able to just put them out after a few days.I wait a week until I toss them outside. Above 50°F has been my limit at 2 weeks. If above 70°F, 5 maybe 7 days inside.
Mine get heat for 5 days. When they are running all around the brooder and not sleeping in the heat, they are done with the heat lamp. They will still huddle in a corner, but no extra heat needed.
