Three days old and they're hopping around trying out the little pinfeathers on their wings.

Surprise! I got more eggs today. I was expecting them on Friday since they shipped Monday from Ohio.

The incubator is warming up so I'll probably set them tonight.

I got them from KDale Coturnix. I didn't hatch as many of my homegrowns as I wanted and I have a customer who wants 30 chicks, so I figured I needed to hatch more. I like the colours on this batch, so I wanted more in case I have to sell a bunch of the ones that just hatched.

what’s your favorite that you hatched from Kdale? I have a couple intriguing ones I’m curious about the pattern I see in the shafts and I have one that looks like metallic silver and I’m like . There are a few grey ones. It is different I can’t wait to see more feathers. I’ll try and get some pics tomorrow.

My first hatch from them are only 3 days old. I have a few black tuxes in there. I can't tell about the rest yet. I have a grey one that looks really interesting. I'll have to see how it feathers out.

A new batch has been set. 20 of my current chicks go to a new home on Friday, so it's a good thing to have more eggs.

We are on day 16 in the incubator and watching carefully. I moved the bator a bit to the side to check for any pips and I swear I heard a chirp. Was I hearing things or can they chirp inside this early? We are using a Janoel 12 and I put in a terrarium hygrometer. I have found the humidity levels drop quickly and raise quickly with only a little bit of water, so I check it four times a day now. I feel like a new mom watching every single thing and worrying about any change in humidity
