are they large?? my guess would be that maybe your order was out of one of the jumbo cages and/or got mixed up with a different foamer. glad you got some nice males for your project and with pharaoh females, you could set up a sex link cage

They're not very big, so I don't think they're jumbo. And it happened twice.

I could believe it was a mix up if it happened once - and I did believe that, and emailed them after it happened the first time and they sent me more eggs. And then it happened a second time, which is this batch.

They're not sex links, which is what I thought at first, because now that I can sex them I have both colors in each gender. They're certainly not out of a pen where all the breeders are Egyptian, because it's impossible for a pen of all Egyptians to produce anything that's not Egyptian.

So I really don't know.

I also set some more Celadon eggs today. I've been letting my Falb Fee cock have visits with the hen so I'm hopeful for some Grau Fee chicks.

I had taken the sand bath out of the snow angels cage, because Baldi couldn’t get in and out, and she would fall in face first and lay that way. I was afraid she would suffocate or get sand stuck in her nares, which I’m always cleaning because she falls over into like the one pile of poo in a clean cage lol. Then when I gave them the chicks, I didn’t put it back in because I didn’t want her to fall on them getting in and out.

I replaced the sand box a couple days ago, and at first it was adults only, and they shuffled the kids away from it. After the novelty wore off, I noticed the kids were always in the “pool” as we’ve come to call it. Suddenly there was tons of bedding in there, I was sifting it so often. Today I see what has happened, they put the bedding in there for the kids, they turned it into a nest! Haha here’s a pick of her putting more bedding in and tucking the kids in.

they get it from far away sometimes too, only the best for their kids haha.
