➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

My smallest Button, Curt, just took a dust bath in a small lid full of water. :he
They were all cleaning their feet in there and that idiot decided to take a bath. I dried it up with some paper towels. Please don't get sick. I feel so bad now for thinking that Buttons were smarter than Corturnix chicks...

Here we go! I set 45 this morning.

Haha I did the same yesterday, except I also set 2 in each corner and one in the center, which I’m hand turning 3x per day lol. Mine will hopefully produce my first snowie celadon layers.

I also stuffed the brinsea full of sex links. I’ve been complaining about my 30 extra hens, but yesterday I sold 15 for $200 so suddenly they don’t seem like such a pain in the buns anymore haha.

My EHAL are sex links too with a few HG’s thrown in......hopefully the HG’s don’t hatch out Egyptian or pharaoh 😂

I’ve been working on my sex links, I recently got a decently tuxy scarlet male, so I’m hoping I get some really tuxy red ladies because the ladies in the sex link pen are lovely Tibetan tuxes. This summer I need to pair tiger millionaire up with my tuxes to get some new tuxy ladies for my sex links, as some are getting to be a year old now. I also need to pair some of my tuxiest scarlet ladies to my tuxy scarlet Roo to get a less messy scarlet tux boy or 2. Not to mention my snowie celadons which I’ve been neglecting hatching because I’ve had so many requests for sex link chicks. So much to do!

First mistake. The quail tray I bought rode up/over the eggs. I had put a shelf liner in it and it appears the shelf liner is tacky enough to jam the eggs when they rotate. I removed the shelf liner and they have rotated 5 times without jamming. Fortunately nothing broke when this happened. I’m going to post this in the other thread that discusses this quail rack so others will be aware of what could happen.

This photo shows how I found it

Did you glue the plates together or just use those clips?

I printed the same turner and have never had that issue, with 3 hatches so far. I use the same shelf liner.
