Quail getting into position to break out of the egg
I just wanted to let you know that you don’t need their cardboard mats, I traced the free mat onto shelf liner and cut it out and that’s what I use. I wash and reuse the same one. I’ve also never used that weird paper sponge. I have pretty high humidity where I live, so it rarely even adds a drop, but you can roll up some shelf liner and stuff it in there, or put chunks of cut up dish sponges in there instead of buying their overpriced accessories.
Thanks, the shelf liner is a good idea. As a former bartender, I have good mats all over the kitchen. The humidity here in the desert is a concern (under 10% typically) so I'll go with their weird paper sponge for now.

There's a 50$ plucker on ebay (search vevor plucker) I'm tempted to try. Looks like the fingers are smaller, though.

Be careful of a cheap eBay plucker. @RoosterML What was the brand of that cheap plucker you bought?

The drill bit attachment one? I bought one, figuring it would get me by with the quail for now, and I can always use it on the hard-to-reach duck "armpit" feathers that duck people complain about.
