I released the littles into genpop today. And I looked for eggs and found a dozen in the box hideaway. (2 were celadon so I have at least 1 celadon layer). 10/12 looked to be developing so I labeled and replaced in same area of the box. Will see what happens with them in the next week(ish). I may need to plug my incubators back up just in case I need a back-up plan!I accidentally didn't close the cage correctly so the door flew open and out went two birds.
I was only able to catch one.
. Freak accident on my part.
LOLing at "genpop", and totally stealing!I released the littles into genpop today.
They’re so panicked! She’s like I’ll wait here, you go look for her. It’s sad and sweet. I’m sure they’ll forget about it in an hour. She's calling for her friend too.
Hehehe...we got our FIRST quail egg!!! So excited! Will should be incubating in a few months once all the females start laying....I am seeing hope to be able to get more chicks before summer ends! I love it!!!So cute!!! Can’t wait for my quail to start laying so we can incubate more too!
Well I have one that has pipped but seems to have quit…and I didn’t get any Celadons :-( I got a total of 3 Pansy Fees out of 28 eggs. Such a bummer…such a difference from my locally hatched eggs. Shipping really does a number on them I guess. I’m giving the pipper till tomorrow but I think I’m done sadly with 3…they’re sure cute though! So excited!
Very late, but he was originally named Meatball too! But when we adopted him from his original owners at 9months we decided to name him Meatloaf, because he was much more loaf-y and because of the musician, lol.My frenchie is named Meatball haha
