➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I have just set my largest batch ever. I will probably never hatch this many at a time again.

I’m moving a small batch of celadon eggs, maybe 15-18 into the nr360 for lockdown today. Once they’re out, I’m filling the brinsea to the brim!

I have nearly 2 full trays (~40) of eggs from the k dales. The black hen is in with a blue roo, a pearl, a sparkly black / chocolate looking hen, and the red sparkly fee. I have 2 celadons in with them so I can try to determine what flavor of gray it has for sure. Enthusiast had said he thought that boy was blue, but to test breed him in case. This is my test, I’m hoping the celadon eggs produce no grays, since the hens are 2 of my originals with no silver at all. The blue, celadons and Black have no lacing or barring, I’m hoping to eventually get some more nice clean blacks and blues.

Then I have 2 trays of pure celadons from my emerging flock of snowies, silvers, Italians, and autumn ambers. I’m pretty excited because this is my first batch with a lot of silver variety. So far, most of the Celadon silvers are either male, silver hens mixed with roux, or don’t carry fawn. I’m really hopeful for some nice snowies from this group.

The last tray is from my albinos, I’m not expecting much from them because most of them are early eggs, they have just started laying, but I figured I’d toss some in and see what comes of it. The rest of the tray has more of the celadon eggs.
