Not to interrupt a thread with peeled meat morsels, but my new chick needs a friend. It hatched about six hours ago and the other seven aren't ready to come out yet.

Hopefully I'll have two handfuls this evening and will post pics. Cross your fingers for me.

I wasn't going to incubate anything through the winter... but I ended up putting some Jumbo Quail eggs from Ebay (Texas) in my incubator. I've bought some from her before.

Three have hatched. They look good. The other five don't show signs of pipping yet, but I'm hoping. . . We're barely into day 17 so I tell myself these three are just early birds.
