I just put my AJ Farms Jumbos into lockdown. Very impressed only one egg was pulled with no development.

it’s all good, I contacted someone local on fb and they’ll have jumbo eggs in april

Honestly I’m sick of all the brooding and dust already, lol. Trying to think of another place to set up the brooder that’s not the kitchen...

I just put my AJ Farms Jumbos into lockdown. Very impressed only one egg was pulled with no development.

The buttons I set a few days before you set your jumbos have hatched. They hatched Friday into Saturday, I set 7 but they were early eggs from a new layer, her first 7 eggs, I set them because she died and her mates needs a new gf. Only 4 developed and locked down and all 4 hatched, my first home grown buttons.

I actually found several more eggs when I cleaned the cage and I set those a couple days ago, no idea how old they are, a couple weeks at least, but maybe I’ll get one or two more. My only remaining albino Coturnix hen is a celadon layer, so I set a couple of her eggs, no idea if they’re fertile, the male she’s with is double silver, she lives in the indoor blind bird cage since the albinos couldn’t tolerate the cold. She just started laying and I was surprised by the blue eggs so I’m setting them to see what I get, there is a double silver male but also other males with injuries have had short stays with the blindies so dad is a mystery.

I like the cheesecloth idea! I think I will start using that on my hatchlings. Seems a lot less slippery than paper towels.

Rubber shelf liner. I don't think anyone uses cheese cloth, but it should work if it doesn't snag the toes.
