āž” Quail Hatch Along🄚

Just set my eggs into lockdown on day 15.

I had to tape paper towels down because the holes in the hatching net provided were too big. Can't wait to see what comes out!

No, I didn't open the incubator lid to take this picture.

Well, sadly we're down to one. Had power fluctuations last night and one was dead this morning. Weird though as they had most of their feathers if not all. They shouldve been warm enough. Unless it was stress from the light being off then on then off again, etc.
are buttons that sensitive? Will the last one be happy still?

It's hard to say why it died. I'm sorry for your loss.

You really want a companion for your last one. If you can't find another, at least give it a mirror and maybe a stuffed toy or two while you look.

Buttons are probably some of the worst type of quail to have alone in my opinion. I'm not sure why it died.
If you can't get a companion for it you can try putting a mirror and a teddy or something in there.
Were you going to keep them as pets? I suggest spending lots of time with it so it doesn't get too lonely.

Day 16: no pipping yet, hoping they pip tomorrow.
I have been able to keep the humidity at a stable 60%.
I can't wait to see what comes out! Really hoping for a pearl šŸ¤žšŸ˜
I'm so excited, but sitting on my hands none the less. :ya

Early Day 17: still no external pips, but I swear I can see them rocking about! I might just be hallucinating, though..

Humidity is staying between 55-61%, I have the whole incubator bottom filled up with water to do so but it's working ok. I'm off to school now, hopefully there are some external pips when I get home!
