➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

You skin or pluck? I'm skeptical of plucking being worth it. Tasty but tiring.

Bacon wrapped works in place of skin.
Have not processed quail yet, but I prefer skinning for chickens. I mainly eat old birds anyway and their skin is gross and rubbery.

Where is the best quail reference? I mean besides here. utube is all over the map. As usual. I like the ones that humanize the quail. Treat them like you would like to be treated.
I learned everything I needed to know right here on the forum. Read the stickies and the quail forum. They need a higher protein to be healthy and lay well. Search on your specific questions and you will find the answers.

I have a few males I need to off once they start fighting so I'll report back then.
Maybe young quail wouldn't be hard to pluck, though. Hand plucking is pretty easy, just time consuming on a big bird.

Done and did. Still think I missed something. I like Batty's "treat them like small, spazzy chickens" comment. I grok this.
Everything is a variation on chickens. Ducks are messy, hungry water chickens. Guineas are dumb stupid awful nasty chickens. Goats are giant browsing milk-producing chickens. Dogs are loud carnivorous potty--train-able chickens.
