➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

I don't have chick feed and am avoiding buying any until the chicks hatch to avoid spoilage.
I have layer feed, feather fixer, scratch and birdseed available. And ample eggs and oregano. Anything I can do with those? So far she seems to only have interest in cooked egg and the smaller grains of birdseed.
I do not think she is drinking and am extremely hesitant to assist with that because of the risk of aspiration.
So I'm going to guess that feed has been the cause if this. If she hasn't been eating chick feed all along.

The layer type feeds have too much calcium for chicks.

Bird seed is junk food. Don't give that to her.
Scratch either.

You might want to start buying all flock feed since you have different ages and a bag of calcium for the layers.

I'm not sure if she has permanent damage due to too high calcium feed for so long.

A good way to get some water in them is to put a drop on their beak so it rolls down to the edge. That often triggers a swallow instinct to get it off their face.

Let me clarify. She is 4 (or 5? Lost track) months old and has been getting chick feed up until 2 weeks ago when I tossed the old bag. Since then she has been on feather fixer.
She has only been getting bird seed the past 2 days since she is being picky and needs to eat something.
Her water is medicated with aspirin. This has been available exclusive to her for the last day.

Using Pugsy's chart from a lot of pages back, days 17-21 show smaller air cells than I'm looking at. Even #3 is bigger than the chart.

So, if one has internally pipped, 3 days to chick-ish. Fun times.
The big air cell you are seeing like in the duck chart is the draw down. The chicken chart isn't showing the draw down. Nutty is about to have chicks!!!!! The draw down can happen quick so tonight I bet you see more draw down when you candle again. Don't listen to Batty. I have faith in your egg handling skills. :woot

Oh ok. Then maybe the old feed messed her up if it was rotten?

I would not give asprin. I don't believe that masking potential pain is good because they can possibly do something to hurt themselves more...if they are hurt.

"As long as there are no internal injuries, the Mississippi State University Extension Service says that an aspirin drinking-water solution can be offered to an injured chicken for a maximum of three days at the ratio of five aspirin tablets (total of 324 mg) to 1 gallon of water.Jan 18, 2016"
