➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Man, we just got a scare. My hubby and I were outside in the chicken area. I was cleaning the coops and collecting eggs. He was refilling waterers and setting up a mister thing since it is so hot. And I hear a noise. Look up and a deer is chasing and trying to stomp on my dog Marley (chihuahua/jack russell terrier mix). I hear a yelp and I'm just screaming. She finally gets away. I gave her a good feel all around with my hands. No yelping so I'm hopeful for no broken bones. She can walk. I'm letting her calm down and rest. Then I'll look her over again. That will dictate if I take her to the vet. We've never had that happen before, and we've lived here for 20yrs. It wasn't a full grown deer but damn was it an aggressive one. Looked like a young one. I didn't see any nubs for antlers but that doesn't mean there weren't any. It happened fast. :barnie

Quite the eventual day for you.

Yeah, it had to be at least 5ft long. He feels so bad. He said, "I couldn't tell what kind it was at first!".
I'm always telling my husband to leave snakes alone in my garden. But he says every snake is a rattler or a moccasin....especially if it is eye level when he is picking cucumbers, etc. His defensive mode clicks in instead of jump and run.
Now if one is in the barn, it is very soon a dead snake for sure.
