➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Yeah no I figured everyone is busy and that’s why no ones on, figured that much. I just meant like in general. Idk. I just kinda worried I was annoying in general and no one says

Not just you guys either, I tend to think I annoy or bug or bother everyone. Anxiety I guess. :barnie

And that’s good!! Maybe I should sleep lol
I thought that's why we are all here! So we can rant when we feel the need, each in their own time. And get love and encouragement when needed. Am I wrong? :hugs

Thank you! I appreciate this. :hugs

I don’t think you’re wrong. :hugs

I’ve just been extra hard on myself lately and also have been having some issues the last few days so I think I’m just not in the best state mentally and a little more anxious and/or paranoid than usual.

BTW, my mom has BTDT. She had a UTI and a cold, she assumed by her symptoms that it was the flu, and she ended up with sepsis. She didn't go in until my dad realized that she was extremely confused and disoriented and took her to the ER thinking she was having a stroke.

I was raised with the wait and see approach to healthcare and it's been a challenge to re-learn when to go in. I just took a kid in for the second time for a persistent sore throat. He never did get a positive strep test but since it had been going on for so long, he got amoxicillin anyway and boom, gone. The rapid test isn't that accurate.
I was also raised with a “you don’t go to the doctor until you’re dying” mentality. Coupled with all the medical issues I’ve had to be rushed off to the ER for, I definitely have a lot of anxiety and hesitation with proactively seeing doctors. It’s something both hubby and I are trying to break before we have children of our own.
No fever today. Not sure if I was dying or if it was allergies from hell or what lol.

Edit- wanted to add that I have had great success with putting a dim night light in coops to avoid birds waiting too long to roost and ending up on the ground.

So sorry about your quail @dpenning :( Losing an entire flock like that is so disheartening.

Well, for whatever it may be worth, I am taking care of my 11 month old grand daughter this weekend. We are having a great time, she loves chickens also! However, no matter how much fun this weekend will be, my right shoulder will pay for it in rotten pain most of the week. We all pick what is important to us and sometimes that comes with a part that just isn't fun. But we choose what is important to us, even when it comes with something we don't always like. Hope everyone is feeling better tomorrow.:hugs:hugs

Thank you :hugs hope you are feeling better too and your shoulder doesn’t hurt too bad!

Happy Memorial Day!

Haven’t been around much lately.
Friday was my brother’s last day of school so I took him to a trampoline park and we had fun. Then tonight the family all went to the carnival and where I got to re-live the small town feel of a fair, and we won two goldfish. :yesss:

We were supposed to spend this weekend with family from Kansas and East Texas but the all of our Kansas family got flooded, and so we called it off.

Still had a great weekend though! :clap

Carnival pictures! I took more but don’t want to flood the page.

Also idk why I’m always so annoying and always gotta type like full out books for shit I could say with one sentence. Sorry.

Like always wayyyyy too much detail

Like I could have just said I lost some weight, bought some healthy food, made a healthier lunch choice (or left that boring part out), walked more, and didn’t give in to something earlier or whatever. That part could be left out too.

But instead I always gotta give way too much detail as usual and write entire paragraphs/essays for each point and literally talk forever. And like why’d I need to list all the exact weights, and the exact foods I bought and how well oh it was bad cause I spent so much but it was good cause it was healthy but still bad cause I spent a lot and well some of it wasn’t healthy and some of it was on sale but still bad but at least it’s healthy blah blah, and how lunch was healthy but oh but it wasn’t actually that healthy but it kinda was, and the boring steps thing when it’s barely even any steps or walking at all yet I act like it’s a million and also the dumb pictures where you can’t even see anything anyway except mess and dumb stuff. And then the extremely cryptic thing where no one probably even knows what I’m talking about anyway. Like blah. Who even cares? It probably just comes across as suuuuuuperrrrrrrrrrr annoying. Sorry for that  I know you all are too nice and would never say so. but it was so unnecessary cause it literally could have been like one sentence! :barnie:oops::smack

Sorry.
I think we’re all aware of and embrace your verbal diarrhea at this point, K. :gigLike Urs said, this should be a safe place for us loony chicken folk to rant.

As for being vague, I think more people know what you mean than you give us credit for haha. Regardless, 5 years is a long time for any sort of personal goal and you should be insanely proud of yourself. I know I am. :hugs

@dpenning for the quail

Oops. Sorry Deep Ending.

Cute carnival pics Prairie! I, for one, would love to be flooded with more. If you want, you can create a spoiler tag and upload all your pics into it so it doesn’t automatically flood the page.
Any plans for the goldfish? I’ve always wanted to try keeping some in a horse trough lol.

Couldn't agree more.
