➡I accidentally bought Balut eggs: 2 live ducks! Now a Chat Thread!

Kind of random and weird but I’ve got a few good things to share aha cause today’s been a pretty good day. Wasn’t sure it would be, didn’t exactly start off that way, and I barely slept, but some good stuff has happened lately haha

I’m officially under 190 for the first time in like... years. Haha I was last night too but still am today! :D I’ve been hovering at like 197 for forever, maybe occasionally losing like 2, 3 pounds, or gaining a few, but mostly hovering. And my highest a few years ago was 207. Which I actually looked heavy then especially in my face. But I’ve been hovering at this weight a while which I don’t look as heavy with clothes on, like my face doesn’t really look it as much, but still definitely am under. So anyway, now I’m 186.6 as of yesterday and again today. I am slightly more when I eat. That’s with empty stomach before eating and after going to the bathroom. After I’ve eaten some I’ve been 188.8. So a ~2ish pound fluctuation. Which I think is pretty normal. But even at the higher weight, it is still UNDER 190 so I am pretty pumped!! I am starting to look a bit slimmer too!! So yay!! I plan on keeping it up. I think it started from dog sitting those 4 days last weekend and all the walking/hiking and steep hills I did!!

That kinda leads into the second thing. I did a pretty big shop last night which was kinda bad cause it was late and I was hungry and wasn’t planning on doing a shop but did. So that’s sort of bad since I spent kind of a lot again BUT I also got a lot and got almost entirely healthy food. Like fruits, vegetables, lots of meat, etc. the meat was the most expensive part I think. Plus I didn’t use my card so it was kind of shopping for the family anyway. The only bad thing I got was one pack of muffins and some organic dark chocolate mini peanut butter cups. But I am trying to be good and eat those slowly. I also went a little crazy with some dried fruit that was on sale but it was a good price. But I think I am going to return all of that stuff and maybe buy it cheaper elsewhere or not. I kept one pack of it. But that’s it. All the rest is really good stuff because I plan on eating really healthy this week. Hopefully it doesn’t all go bad before we can eat it all cause I got a little carried away :lau but I’m planning on eating healthy every meal now so I think it will go quickly ha so that’s good. And also a lot of it was on sale anyway which is why I bought so much. Like the fruit was all great great prices/sales for huge containers so I got a bunch. And some of my goat milk yogurt. And OJ was on sale which I don’t drink but my dad does and we are out so I got two cartons cause that was the deal. 2 for whatever.

Next good thing is lunch which wasn’t that good cause my parents got a big roast beef sandwich but thankfully they didn’t get cheese or mayo on it and there’s not that much bread so I just put a little tiny bit of mayo on it and stuck some huge pieces of spinach on it. I think the spinach is intended for cooking down cause it was huge instead of baby spinach but oh well. Still tastes the same ha so I made the sandwich a bit healthier than it would otherwise be.

And before I ate, I got all these steps in just from walking around the loop for like 10 minutes straight lol switched directions a few times so I wouldn’t get dizzy :lau

Not the difference of before and after lol didn’t think I walked that much.

And the loop lol just down the hall and through the dining room and kitchen. Sometimes I also add going around the island a bunch too but I didn’t today. Makes it longer though lol

And the final and kind of weird thing which I won’t go into detail on is earlier before the day turned good I almost did something really stupid and ruined almost 5 years of hard work but thankfully I managed to stop myself and think before I did it which was good because it would have just made things worse and caused me to spiral. But I’m really proud of myself for being able to stop myself because I almost didn’t and almost ruined everything. But I did manage to and turned my day around and now I’m really happy and had a good day since and so so glad I stopped myself and didn’t give in. Kiks knows what it is but it’s too weird/personal to put here but I just wanted to make note that I’m pretty proud of myself for it. I know that’s really vague and cryptic and I’m sorry. But yeah. Idk. There’s a lot to be proud of today. :D

I am having bumblefoot issues. We had to dig another one out of Priscilla’s foot. Accidentally sliced a toe because she flinched. That was fun. She’s ok now. I hope. She’s still hobbling so maybe we didn’t get it all, idk. Also, she hubby went to let them out and check on her this morning, he noticed blood on his hands as he was coming back inside afterwards. So he went back out and noticed Priscilla somehow lost a toe nail and her quick was exposed and bleeding. So he brought her in, cleaned and wrapped it. Then we took a look at all of the other girls. Amber had a spot on each of her feet. Getting hers out and cleaned went a LOT smoother. So we got her bandaged up. I think we are going to go to just sand in the coop and keep shavings in the nest boxes. I think they are getting splinters or poked from them. On a good note, we made it to where the littles could get out and mingle. Things are going very well so far. Yay!
 
I have good news and bad news. The good news is one of Street Foods girls is on a nest. They finally found the island was a good place to lay so I may have some babies soon from my own ducks. Plus the three I'm raising and there will be ducks a plenty.

The bad news is I had a quail massacre. I have one lonely quail left. I went and picked up the bodies and found where what I'm assuming is a raccoon got in through the roof. I've had birds in this pen for three years and this is the first time they have gotten in. :(

I'm going to go to TSC and get a bunch of welded wire to cover the entire roof down to the sides and the end gables. Nothing is going to get in this pen again!

So.... what do I do with a single lonely quail? :(

Like always wayyyyy too much detail

Like I could have just said I lost some weight, bought some healthy food, made a healthier lunch choice (or left that boring part out), walked more, and didn’t give in to something earlier or whatever. That part could be left out too.

But instead I always gotta give way too much detail as usual and write entire paragraphs/essays for each point and literally talk forever. And like why’d I need to list all the exact weights, and the exact foods I bought and how well oh it was bad cause I spent so much but it was good cause it was healthy but still bad cause I spent a lot and well some of it wasn’t healthy and some of it was on sale but still bad but at least it’s healthy blah blah, and how lunch was healthy but oh but it wasn’t actually that healthy but it kinda was, and the boring steps thing when it’s barely even any steps or walking at all yet I act like it’s a million and also the dumb pictures where you can’t even see anything anyway except mess and dumb stuff. And then the extremely cryptic thing where no one probably even knows what I’m talking about anyway. Like blah. Who even cares? It probably just comes across as suuuuuuperrrrrrrrrrr annoying. Sorry for that :oops: I know you all are too nice and would never say so. :oops: but it was so unnecessary cause it literally could have been like one sentence! :barnie:oops::smack
