Just when I think I was done, I went and got more eggs to hatch. Got to love chicken math I decided to add 2 more lines to my cream legbars and 2 more lines to my White American bresse if Iam saying this right. Yesterday I received 12 American bresse and 8 cream legbars

Today I received 8 American bresse and 12 cream legbars, hatch day is September 24th and 25th

Hoping to have successful breeding with 3 different lines of these 2 breeds and in the spring plan to add 2 more lines to my BCMs and Black Amerucanas that hatched in August.

I now have silver appleyards and pekin eggs set to hatch 1st Oct. How big do you think the S.As will be before my husband notices theres a different breed

I have 3 ancona duck eggs set to hatch around the 22nd. I ordered 5, recieved 6, dropped one, and 2 were infertile.
The remaining eggs are doing well though, and the embryos started moving around a little today as I was candling them.

Have you bred her with a her with a heritage breed?

She is cooped with a bourbon red at the moment.... he doesn't seem to be taking care of business. I may move her in with one of my big black heritage boys

Phew, I haven't been on this forum for a whole month and a half - refrained from hatching for that long (trying being a responsible chicken keeper for the space I have). Back to feed my addiction by following along with all of you! I have Swedish Hedemora and Bresse chicks ordered for next spring and will be hatching my own BCMs, Cochins, and Wheaten Ameraucanas come March as well! A little too excited for the next hatching season!

I have been super inactive, long story, but I have been lurking. I am on day 15 of my very first hatch. It's been fun, I went all in and have some Deathlayers, Ayam Cemanis, and some Bielefelders in there. It's been an adventure, the hatch rate is utter garbage already, but hey, we are learning a lot!
