That's what HE said to ME. "Collect beads, Honey. They're cheaper to feed and clean up after!"

And then he pointed out that we had to get rid of some animals if we wanted more. He has this thing about not having too many critters around. When we got married I had the 2 kids, 1 cat, and 6 hamsters. The hamsters passed away, one by one, and after the last one died we got cat #2. So he always felt that we'd gone overboard to have 7 chickens: "It 'upset' the animal balance." 2 kids/ 7 animals was balance. 2 kids / 9 animals was just wrong (in his eyes).
And now we have 40 potential chicks in the bator? He's freaking. Intrigued, but freaking....

DH & I have been married for 2.5 years and he's learning the same thing. Poor guy was an Army Sergeant and a bachelor and got use to having things HIS way. Had to learn the "If Momma ain't happy, ain't NOBODY happy" rule. Talk about an attitude adjustment!!

Woo hoo!

Her eggs have the best percentages of all my eggs after the first candling...Of eggs I can view, that is. I really can't see into the Ameracauna's that well.

The EE eggs that I got were very hard to see through to. I hope these turn out good. They are resting as we speek and then they will go in the bator.

Barnyard, thanks

Glad they made the journey safely!

Wegothickens, that's good to hear about their fertility

Yes, my daughter was mightily pleased! After not being able to see into any of the green eggs, yours were a real treat. Easy to see veining, and small dark embryos in 6 of the 8 eggs. One had a definite air cell and one looked clear w/o an air cell.
We candle again tomorrow night!

Hummmm... that is an odd possibility

I assume that it is maybe a misplaced air sac.... did you look on the side of the egg, not just on the end?
Anyways, I'm glad your DD enjoyed it
