dipsie, got some of your eggs hatching...I can't seem to find my camera or I'd post pics...

2 silkie/cross eggs 1 frizzle and 1 serama (I think) dh threw the egg shells away before I saw.

if I find my camera I will post pics ok!

Hi Jim! Breeding 2 frizzled birds will make more frizzle birds, but the drawback is a % of the chicks will get 2 copies of the frizzle gene and that is not good.
The FF chicks hatch fine and don't die outright or anything, but have brittle, over-curled feathers that break easily (the poor birds stay mostly naked) and have metabolic issues from over-sized organs trying to 'keep up' .
I got 2 FF Cochins in an order from IDEAL hatchery in '05 and they died young.

It was almost a blessing, the 2 girls were just miserable most of the time.
