4H Center is a very good place for this. We are 15 minutes away. ( I spent many years traveling there for 4H)
I do wonder if anyone would have Welsummers for sale- only a hen or two. Dark eggs would go great with my EEs.
Question: is there any legal problem with *farmers* selling less than 6 chicks?

Not that I have been made aware of....Since it is not (to my knowledge) a PA law of a 6 chick minimum, I see no reason to put such a restriction on any of the sellers at our event.

Y'know, you really need a local church to offer PA Dutch Chicken Pot Pie Dinners.

I am looking for a church or scout organization to do just that...any ideas?​

Scoop I know what ur saying...though I will be coming back from the beach that day and just may consider coming a bit farther north before returning back towards Harrisburg! Lol

So I guess that's a consider me a 'maybe' lol and no I wont be vending...maybe expanding my flock though!

Don't forget, I need to have "for sure" conformation for vendors by June 12. You don't have to just sell chickens. If you have a hobby or craft, come on up!!! Show off our talents!

Also, for you rabbit, sheep and goat people - we have outdoor space. And, I have had some inquiries already if we will have "other" livestock.

Here is the latest.......

Since I have been unable to get folks to commit to vending, we will not have the money to rent the 4H building.

However, my husband and I have talked it over and we still want to do this Chickenstock thing. Therefore, we will be hosting it at our home. We live aprox 5 minutes from the 4H building and are very easy to get to from US222. We have a 4 acre mini farm with a place for gathering indoors. as well as plenty of outdoor space.

I still do need to know who will be coming and what you will be bringing - if anything - or what you are looking for breed wise. Please post in here your attendance and what you have or what you're looking for that way folks will know what's needed and available.

I have turkens, orpingtons, polish and some cochins, barred rock and maybe some partridge rocks too.

I would like to organize a "covered dish" supper. We will provide drinks and the aforementioned Dump cake and ice cream. It doesn't have to be fancy, but lets make it fun!!!
